What is it?
Ultrasound is a non-invasive technology that allows your doctor to visualize joints, tendons, and nerves. This technology helps diagnose rotator cuff and other tendon pathology, carpal tunnel syndrome and is sometimes used to improve injection accuracy.
How does it help my care?
Ultrasound allows your doctor to diagnose and confirm conditions which previously required more expensive diagnostic studies like MRIs or EMGs. These studies (EMG, MRI) often require patients to go to another site or office to obtain the study, then return to your doctor for the results of the study. Ultrasound allows same-day diagnostics and results.
What does it cost?
Ultrasound is covered by most insurance plans with no pre-certification required.
